If they don't survive there, well they probably won't be happy with the results, but by keeping things in perspective they will hopefully have a good time along the way. One good way to do this will be to avoid calling their enemies names on the forums. Comparing their pvp abilities to everyday household objects that aren't scary works for me - try doing that instead.
Xelas experienced Outbreak and Celes during July and August in Fountain.
I have to say that Marko has hit the nail on the head. My corporation joined Xelas to help them clean core out, at the time the hostiles were random FA corps. When we arrived we discovered that the only real pvp action we would get was ganks, this quickly made us a bit miserable. So rather than up sticks and leave we decided to get a little bigger and make a few iskies.
Once Outbreak joined Celes in Fountain the fun really started. They are formidible opponents alone, once they stood together it was not uncommmon for them to field approx 60-70 in a fleet. Any 0.0 alliance will agree that those sort of numbers with good skills & fittings will alarm anyone!
The fighting was hard going but fun, the chat in local was always pleasant, and although there is always one noob on either side that decided he couldnt resist a little smack, all in all it was quite honerable.
My point is however. The outbreak/celes invasion broke Xelas. Half of our members left to form another alliance (the hoard). So I was one of the only people with any experience of EVE left in leadership. I began to rebuild. Whilst we are not quite there yet, outbreak has made me look long and hard at what I am trying to achieve here. Over time we had forgotten what EVE is all about. We had forgotten about the thrill of the fight. And most of all we had forgotten about unity. Which is what an alliance is all about.
A meaningful attack from good hostiles is the best way to test your alliance. I have actions from the event which I intend to execute on, this in turn will indeed make us stronger.
Long live Xelas, Good luck Rise.
Thank you Outbreak and Celes.
